Toads are amphibians in the order Anura, along with frogs, and are often compared to them as being larger, with rough, dry skin and short rear legs.

Toads usually have dry skin due to having less need to breathe through their skin and habitat differences, and are slightly larger than most frogs. Many toads are in the genus Bufo. Also, they tend to walk, as many of them have shorter back legs, largely unsuitable for leaping.
