Geckos are largely arboreal (but also urban-living) lizards belonging to the infraorder Gekkota, characterized with specialized toe pads in nearly all species which help them to climb angled, vertical and upside-down surfaces.
Description[]
Feet[]
Most geckos have small hooks with extremely minute hairs on their toes to help them grip walls and other vertical surfaces, including very smooth ones. A small number have claws instead, as per normal for lizards.
