Surinam Horned Frog

Surinam horned frog.

The Amazonian Horned Frog, also known as the Surinam Horned Frog, is the largest species of horned frog. It has an exceptionally wide mouth, and can feed on such animals as other frogs, mice, and lizards, as well as small and large invertebrates.

The Surinam horned frog reaches lengths of up to 20cm.

The Surinam horned frog uses its mouth by lunging at prey with jaws open, capturing it with either its jaws or large, sticky tongue.
